How We're Different

Would you get into a car with keys and a map without having learned how to actually drive? That’s the way most traditional wine classes operate.

These classes will teach you about the most common grape varieties and the most well-known wine regions: the keys and the maps. The teacher will usually be very knowledgeable. But you, the customer, will typically walk away having had a good time, but without being any more comfortable the next time you are looking to buy a bottle. You still haven’t learned how to drive.

This traditional approach skips over the basics – the most important fundamental concepts you need to know in order to get where you want to go: in this case, picking a bottle of wine that you’re happy with.

This is where we come in.

By exploring wines together in small groups, we help you to:

  • Understand the building blocks of a wine
  • How these building blocks form your personal preferences
  • Communicate what you want in shops and restaurants

Consider this your driving lesson. But way more fun.

Yes, we also know what we’re talking about when it comes to wine. But, more importantly, we know how to make this confusing, intimidating topic more straightforward and approachable, so that after an hour or two you will actually walk away with something that’s useful.

And, so, the next time you’re buying wine, you will feel empowered to make a choice that works for you.
